Carbon dioxide is one of the greenhouse gases responsible for climate change. By having more healthy plants with leaves, carbon dioxide can be absorbed in a greater capacity. While photosynthesis takes place in the leaves, the stems, and other plant parts allow for transport and distribution of nutrients and water to certain parts. Leaves are not only a source of oxygen and absorption of carbon dioxide in our environment; they also provide shelter to different insects and animals. Some animals nest and attach cocoon on leaves. Fluctuating environment can, however, have an impact on this process, affecting the ecosystem's stability.
